The pink hue of sunset
glows from within
the tips of your hair.
With your every movement,
confidence dances.
The sun and you have embraced often-
familiarity marking your skin, a sepia kiss.
Walking jauntily, slicing
grace with efficiency,
in you,
arrogance managed to win
a wife in practicality.
Speech naturally indented and bubbling
with curses is dammed, for me,
with apologies and better vowels.
But I enjoy drifting along clear water
sliding smoothly over the rocks,
rather than rose pink streams spurting awkwardly,
though I love dipping my fingers in it,
watching my fingers get tinged blush.
Your touch: firm and adept
at rougher handling,
can be gentle, can be angry,
always sets a fire in my chest.
Your soul shines with pride and contentment,
strong as iron when it comes to will.
Logic is infused with emotions,
and rather than muddying the waters,
the two run straight and true.
Watchful, yet playful.
Careful, yet forceful.
Two sides of the same coin,
Though neither is the head nor the tail.
The fire in your eyes is most definitely red,
the sea is mine is aquamarine.
You say you believe in soulmates,
how every person has another
meant for them, who loves
everything about them, whose love
is returned hundredfold.
But darling,
you are luckier than most.
Because I think you’re utterly beautiful.
